Q1- What is the guideline for entry test for admission in MS Economics and Finance?

A- The admission test will be two hours in duration. For candidates that have sixteen years of qualification (four years bachelor’s degree or two years bachelor and two years master’s degrees) in Economics, Business Administration, Management Sciences, and Commerce from any university recognized by HEC the admission test will be based on General Knowledge, Accounting and Finance, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Mathematics, Statistics, English, and Analytical Reasoning. For candidates that have sixteen years of qualification (four years bachelor’s degree or two years bachelor and two years master’s degrees) in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering and other disciplines from any university recognized by HEC the admission test will be based on General Knowledge, Mathematics, Statistics, English, and Analytical Reasoning.

 

Q2- Do the candidates with no economics or business degree require to take additional courses?

A- The applicants having no background in economics shall also take preparatory / customized noncredit courses such as Principles of Economics, Mathematical Economics and Principal of Accounting before starting the MS studies. The committee comprising of the Dean and at least two faculty members from the Economics and Finance programme will determine the eligibility and requirement of preparatory courses.

 

Q3- What is the minimum duration of MS Economics and Finance programme?

A- The minimum possible duration of MSEF is. i- Five (05) semesters, 2.5 years, for the evening programme and ii- Three (03) semesters, 1.5 years for the weekend programme.

 

Q4- What is the maximum number of courses that a MS student can register for in a semester?

A- MS student can register for i- Maximum two (02) courses in evening programme in a semester ii- Maximum four (04) courses in weekend programme in a semester

 

Q5- What is the fee structure for MS programme?

A- Detailed fee structure for MS programme is provided on page 71 in Postgraduate prospectus available on the department and the university’s website.
